At MoveOcean, our mission is to provide better transportation of all kinds in Ocean County. We advocate for better road safety, public transit, and walking and biking infrastructure across the county.

We are working with community members and officials to coordinate municipal, county, and NJ governments towards the issue of car dependency in Ocean County.

Roads in Ocean County are incredibly dangerous. In 2025, 62 members of Ocean County communities were taken away in fatal car crashes. The way our roads are constructed allow more of these crashes to occur. While bad drivers will always exist, we could be doing things to prevent these crashes that we are not doing. Changes like roundabouts

The way our roads are constructed allow more of these crashes to occur. While bad drivers will always exist, we could be doing things to prevent these crashes that we are not doing. Changes like roundabouts in the correct places, thinner lanes, and better speed enforcement would make driving in Ocean County safer and more reliable.

Protected bike lanes, walking trails, and better signage for pedestrians would make it significantly safer to get around to places that are normally only easily accessible by car. Not only is this safer, but it would improve quality of life for residents of Ocean County everywhere. Walkable, downtown districts are already some of the most frequented areas of the county. Why not bring more of that design philosophy around the area?

We have seen an abundance of housing projects spring up across Ocean County in the last decade. Our population has significantly increased. There is continual demand for new development in Ocean County. If we must continue to build, we need to consider mixed use and transit oriented development at a higher rate. This would allow for the developments to benefit residents already living in Ocean County as well as new residents.
We're always looking for volunteers to go to town council meetings and tell municipal councils about our mission, and about public interest in our mission! If you're interested in helping us out, get in contact with us!
